In 6th grade at AMS\, we value opportunities that give stude nts experiences outside of the classroom. A significant portion of the 6th grade science curriculum at AMS includes the Residential Outdoor School e xperience where students learn about ecology and the environment while on a multi-day and night adventure. The cost of this residential camp experie nce is covered by the state’s “Outdoor School for All” funds. Additi onally\, we have several other experiences planned for our students that f oster team-building so that the 6th grade class can bond as a cohesive uni t as we blend the different elementary schools together.

Four days and thre e nights of ROS (Residential Outdoor School – includes food\, lodging an d instruction\, and will take place Camp Myrtlewood. We need volunteers to make this incredibly memorable experience happen. If you are able to volu nteer\, please be sure to get you district volunteer paperwork completed o nline as quickly as possible.

We are requesting th at each family contribute $30 toward the cost of consumable supplies and t hese programs. We realize that paying the full amount at the beginning of the school year might be a burden for some families\, so we offer a paymen t option. It is our policy that no student will be left behind because of financial need\, so scholarships are available. In addition\, payments can be made throughout the school year if back-to-school costs in August exce ed your family’s budget. If you are willing and able\, we would welcome donations to help offset the cost of scholarships.
