DESCRIPTION:<p><span>On Tuesday\, October 20\, 2026\, Douglas Anderson Scho
 ol of the Arts will administer the <strong>Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude
  Test/National Merit Scholarship Test (PSAT/NMSQT)</strong>.</span></p><p 
 style="text-align: left"><span>The PSAT/NMSQT is co-sponsored by the Colle
 ge Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is administered an
 nually to more than one million students and measures verbal and mathemati
 cal abilities that are important in college work. The PSAT gives students 
 the opportunity to find out what the College Board’s Scholastic Aptitude
  Test (SAT) is like\, and helps them in planning for college or other post
 -secondary aspirations.</span></p><p style="text-align: left"><span>Studen
 ts will be allowed to use a calculator for a portion of the math section o
 f the exam. Students who choose to participate in the College Board Studen
 t Search Service have an opportunity to hear from colleges that they might
  not otherwise learn about.</span></p><p style="text-align: left"><span>Th
 e PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for JUNIOR students who wish to p
 articipate in the nationwide scholarship competitions administered by the 
 National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Students will need to bring their 
 fully charged laptop with all updates installed prior to Tuesday\, October
  20th in order to sit for the exam. Testing will begin at 8:45 am with no 
 late entry.</span></p>
