This year nineteen elementary and ten mid dle schools are participating in the annual district Battle of the Books. Battle of the Books is a popular program designed to improve reading and c omprehension while building enthusiasm for reading using a fun and unique competition format. Students will compete in teams of four to six to demon strate their knowledge of ten pre-selected books. Each school’s winning team will represent their school in the district-level competitions that w ill be held on Tuesday\, April 14th\, and Wednesday\, April 15th\, in the Family Life Center at First Presbyterian (224 Barnwell Ave NW\, Aiken). We hope you will join us at the Battle of the Books competitions to celebrat e these students’ hard work!
