nbsp\;As you may be aware\, we were excited to announce at \;several o
f our “K for a Day” events that we would be transitioning to a new&nbs
p\;staggered start \;schedule for \;kindergarten students\, which
is similar to what we implement for our Pre-K students! \;
At t
he \;start \;of each school year\, the first days of kindergarten
provide teachers and school leaders an \;opportunity to get to know st
udents\, complete entry-level screeners\, and observe classroom dynamics.
In \;addition\, this new \;staggered start \;schedule will hel
p streamline and strengthen the process.
Also\, during \;this t
ime\, schools may make adjustments to class rosters to create the most bal
anced learning \;environments possible. These decisions will be made t
houghtfully and with students' best interests in \;mind while taking i
nto consideration factors such as academic needs and learning styles.

br>Although a \;teacher assignment may change\, we would like to ensur
e that every child is placed in a classroom with the \;greatest opport
unity to thrive\, build positive relationships\, and experience a successf
ul \;start \;to the year.
We \;will enact the following
\;staggered start \;schedule for our kindergarten students to sup
port a smooth \;transition into school:
Wed nesday\, August 5th: Only \;Group A \;will attend .
Thursday\, August 6th: Only \;Gr oup B \;will attend\; group A will not.
Friday\, August 7th: \;All \;kindergarten students will attend together.
August 5th-18th : Over a ten day period\, kindergarten students will be observed by teache rs and school leaders to determine the best classroom assignments. \;
Once kindergarten students a
re registered\, school leaders will then determine which students should&n
bsp\;attend on August 5th or 6th and communicate to families as early as p
ossible. Parents/guardians are \;asked to have students practice knowi
ng their first and last names. Furthermore\, students in other grades
\;(including siblings) should attend school on both August 5th and 6th as
normal unless they are in pre-k. \;
Transportation will operate
as usual. \;
Lastly\, please \;contact your child’s scho
ol (please be mindful of the summer office hours.) if you need \;addit
ional assistance.
