Welcome to Randolph Jr./Sr. High School! We are excited to welcome our new 7th graders and their families! 🎉
On Thursday, August 27, students and families are invited to stop by the school anytime between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. There is no set arrival time. Students can pick up their schedules and locker combinations, put materials in their locker, find their classrooms, and practice navigating their school day.
If you can't make it, don't worry! Students will get their information on the first day of school, and plenty of staff will be available to help them navigate their day.
We can't wait to welcome our new 7th graders!

We are reaching out to follow up regarding the Summer Driver Education Program.
At the Board of Education meeting on July 1st, the Board determined that Summer Driver Education is not going to be included in our contingency budget. As a result, the program cannot be offered while the District is operating under a contingency budget.
We sincerely apologize for the late notice and for the disruption this causes to your family’s summer plans. We understand many students and families arranged work schedules, vacations, and other commitments around participation in this program, and we recognize the frustration and inconvenience this decision creates.
Although we are unable to offer the program this summer, we have contacted neighboring school districts to determine whether they have any available openings in their Summer Driver Education programs. We have asked those districts to notify us if space becomes available, and we will promptly share that information with enrolled families.
Families are also encouraged to contact neighboring school districts directly to inquire about any available openings, as additional opportunities may exist.
We truly regret that we are unable to provide this program and appreciate your patience and understanding as the District complies with the legal requirements governing contingency budgets.

Dear Driver Education Families,
We are writing to provide advance notice regarding this year's Summer Driver Education Program.
Following the defeat of the District's proposed budget, Randolph Central School District is required to operate under a contingency budget. Under New York State law, contingency budgets may fund only those expenditures that qualify as ordinary contingent expenses. Summer Driver Education does not typically qualify as an ordinary contingent expense under these requirements.
As a result, the Board of Education is expected to consider the status of the Summer Driver Education Program at its meeting on Tuesday, June 30. Because the program is scheduled to begin on July 1, we wanted families to be aware that there is a strong likelihood the program will not be able to proceed under the contingency budget. The Board will take formal action at its meeting.
At this time, we ask that families do not send their students to the Driver Education program on July 1. Once a final determination has been made, the District will communicate directly with all enrolled families on Wednesday regarding the Board's decision and any available options moving forward.
We recognize the inconvenience this creates for students and families and appreciate your patience and understanding as we comply with the legal requirements governing contingency budgets.

Rather, it means that the Board of Education has chosen to adopt a contingency spending plan that allows us to begin the school year while preserving flexibility and maintaining the educational experiences our students and families value.
As we move through the 2026-2027 school year, the Board of Education and district administration will continue to carefully monitor revenues, expenditures, enrollment trends, staffing needs, and overall financial conditions. This ongoing review process is not unique to a contingency budget year; it is part of responsible financial management.
The reality is that all school districts must continuously evaluate programs and services to ensure resources are aligned with student needs and long-term financial sustainability. Randolph will be no different. Throughout the year, the Board will review spending patterns, assess program effectiveness, and consider opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings where appropriate.
No decisions have been made regarding future reductions, and any discussions regarding potential changes would occur through the Board of Education's public process with transparency and community engagement.
The Board's immediate goal is to adopt a legally compliant contingency budget that allows the district to continue operating effectively while preserving as many opportunities for students as possible. The Randolph Central School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library.
The purpose of the meeting is to adopt the district's 2026-27 contingency budget, as required under New York State law following the defeat of the proposed budget by district voters.
