DESCRIPTION:
National Scavenger Hunt Day on May 24th each year sends us o
ff to find random items all in the name of good fun.

American gossip
 columnist\, author\, songwriter\, and professional hostess Elsa Maxwell (
May 24\, 1883 – November 1\, 1963) is credited with the introduction of
the scavenger hunt for use as a party game in the modern era.

The ga
me challenges teams to scavenge for a list of odd items. As part of the ru
les\, participants are not allowed to buy the objects. Depending on where
the hunt takes place\, players may have to beg\, barter\, or even work for
them\, too. Some scavenger hunts add difficulty to the game by adding rid
dles describing each item. The team with the most items\, or the first to
complete the list\, wins.

DESCRIPTION:Gratitude Day is celebrated annually on the 21st September. The
celebration of Gratitude Day allows both individual citizens and organisa
tions within wider society to celebrate the broad meaning of gratitude in
a variety of ways.
-------------------------
Since 1982\, the <st
rong>International Day of Peace has begun with the ringing of th
e Peace Bell at the United Nations headquarters\, New York.

Peace me
ans so much more than an absence of war. More ordinary conflicts arise fro
m disputes with family\, colleagues and neighbours and these disturb our s
ense of peace. Making peace with one person today\, even if it is just wit
h yourself\, is a fitting way to mark the day. Light a candle\, reflect\,
forgive and enjoy being tranquil.

Parents\, do you reward your child
ren when they share toys and help each other? Learning how to solve disput
es without aggression is a great way to enjoy peace day. A sponsored toddl
e can raise funds for peace charities and tire out the little ones. Bliss!

Peace needs building\, not just celebrating. Make everyday your day
of peace as you work towards harmony at home\, school\, work and in the c
ommunity

DESCRIPTION:
History of Epilepsy Awareness Month

Epilepsy Awarene
ss Month has been celebrated since 1969\, and in 2003\, the US Congress co
nfirmed that November would be Epilepsy Awareness Month. The campaign has
grown rapidly and is now celebrated across the world.

Initially laun
ched to enable people to understand more about the condition and how it af
fects day to day life\, more recently\, the campaign has focused on preven
ting discrimination and eliminating myths and perceptions that permeate pu
blic thinking.

Over the years\, more and more organizations have sig
ned up to support Epilepsy Awareness Month\, and this trend looks set to c
ontinue.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition\, which is characteriz
ed by seizures\, which cause involuntary movements\, shaking\, confusion a
nd anxiety. Seizures vary\, and coming across somebody who is having a sei
zure can be terrifying\, especially for those with limited knowledge about
epilepsy. This is why campaigns like Epilepsy Awareness Month are so impo

DESCRIPTION:
History of Native American Heritage Month

The histor
y of Native American Heritage Month goes back a surprisingly long time\, e
ven without considering the hundreds of years that Europeans have imposed
themselves on the New World. The first inklings that such a day may come t
o pass occurred back in 1915 when Red Fox James\, a Native American of the
Blackfoot nation\, took it upon himself to ride a horse from state to sta
te seeking approval from 24 separate state governments for a day to honor
the “American Indian”. In December of that year he presented it to the
White House\, apparently to no positive effect.

It was George H. W.
Bush who officially took the steps to push forward a joint resolution tha
t made November of 1990 the first official Native American Heritage Month.
Multiple proclamations have been made since each year following 1994. Sin
ce then cultural sites\, museums\, and native tribal councils have organiz
ed events showcasing their rich and diverse culture and history so that it
might be spread to the young and continue to thrive.

<a href="https
