DESCRIPTION:
Interventions developed from FBA are among the most ef
fective for students with persistent behavioral concerns in schools. In th
is session\, participants will explore the resources developed by the KY B
ehavior Task Group. The FBA is a problem-solving process for any general o
r special education student with persistent\, severe\, or complex behavior
challenges. This problem-solving process involves identifying clear\, pre
dictive relationships between events in a person’s environment and occur
rences of an observable target behavior. BIP is a plan that is based on th
e results of a functional behavioral assessment (FBA) and\, at a minimum\,
includes a description of the problem behavior\, global and specific hypo
theses as to why the problem behavior occurs and intervention strategies t
hat include positive behavioral supports and services to address the behav
ior. Participants will explore all the steps in FBA/BIP.

<spa
