Merid ian\, ID – April 27\, 2026 — The Idaho Fine Arts Academy (IF AA) invites the community to experience Ripples of Her Words\, an evening of original dance and live music highlighting the creativity of i ts students. The performance will take place Monday\, April 27\, 2026\, at 7:00 PM at the Meridian Middle School Auditorium.
The concert features IFAA’s middle school dance majors and high scho ol classical music majors performing a program inspired by stories from Id aho women’s history. The interdisciplinary performance blends spoken wor d\, contemporary dance\, and live piano music created and performed by stu dents.
The program also includes a professional contemporary dance work\, Gasp!\, choreographed by Leslie Kraus\, Artistic Directo r of the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission and may be purchased online\, from IFAA dance performer s\, or at the theater on the day of the performance.

Congratulations to our 2026 graduate s! Graduation is almost here! The following guidelines and year-end inform ation outline a few of the traditions and expectations that accompany this ceremony. \;Graduation will be held at the Centennial Perform ing Arts Center on the Centennial High School campus\, on Friday\, May 22\ , at 4:00 pm. Seniors should arrive no later than 3:00 pm for class pictur es\, individual pictures\, and to line up for the ceremony.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS AT THE GRADUATION C EREMONY
Each gradu ating senior may invite as many people to attend as desired. The graduatio n will also be livestreamed. Participation in the graduation ceremony is n ot required to receive one’s diploma. Your graduate should communicate w ith the principal or counselor if he or she chooses not to attend.< /p>

CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION HA S ALREADY OCCURRED
All graduating seniors who purchased a cap and gown should already have t heirs or will receive theirs in the coming weeks. Please check with Codi H ansen\, school guidance counselor\, if you have questions.

PARTICIPATION AT GRADUATION/LAST DAY FOR SENIORS
Receiving a diploma at the graduation ceremony (commencement) is not a requirement. Students cho osing not to participate in the ceremony may receive their diploma after g raduation by contacting IFAA Principal\, \;Christian Housel. The l ast official day of school for seniors is Friday\, May 15 and is a full da y of school. In addition\, all seniors must meet all graduation requi rements as outlined by the West Ada Board of Trustees and confirmed by the building administrator to participate in the commencement ceremony. Any s tudent with attendance or academic issues may be required to attend school beyond May 16.

< strong>GRADUATION PRACTICE/SET-UP: \;Graduation practice is t entatively scheduled for Friday\, May 22\, between 9-11 a m at the Centennial Performing Arts Center. This is the day of graduation and seniors must attend graduation practice in order to participate in the ceremony.

DRESS EXPECTATIONS FOR GRAD UATION
We want our students to dress appropriately for the formal graduation ceremony. Gradu ation attire exemplifies the character of the senior class\, their familie s\, and our school. We recommend students wear professional clothes approp riate for the occasion\, including appropriate footwear\, underneath their gowns. In accordance with district policy\, caps will have no marking s on them. Sandals\, slippers\, or flip-flops should not be worn. Do not forget to iron gowns using low to medium settings. Students should not carry or conceal any items under their robes during the ceremony. We ask graduates not to wear their gowns until just before the ceremony.

GRADUATION CEREMONY L IVE STREAM
The 2026 graduation ceremonies will be live streamed again this year. We have a district-wide page that has a link to all the graduation ceremonies. The video link wi ll be located at the bottom of IFAA’s website homepage on the day of gra duation. The video will go live approximately 10 minutes prior to the even t’s start time. We discourage and prohibit “supplemental materials\,” s uch as signs\, noisemakers\, flower leis\, sunglasses\, or any other m aterial or apparel that might detract from the ceremony and the honor bestowed on each graduating student.

DIPLOMAS
Diploma covers\, with the diploma inside\, will be presented to th e graduate by the school principal or designee during the graduation cerem ony. Students who have fines will not receive their diplomas until all fin es have been cleared by the school.

CLASS RANKING &\; GPA CALCULATIONS
The class ranking for graduating senior s is determined using the following formula:
Un-weighted GPA + # of AP classes x .02 = class ranking GPA. For the purposes of printing commencement materials\, assigning honor cords\, and choosing graduation speakers\, student grades and GPA calculations will be made on Monday\, April 20\, 2026. The compl ete academic year will be recorded on the student’s final high school tr anscript.

RECOGNITION OF HONOR STUDENT S
Honor students w ill be those who meet the following cumulative GPA requirements on their t ranscripts for any class for which high school credits were earned. AP cou rses are graded on a 5-point scale.

SELECTION OF STUDENT SPEAKERS @ GRADUATION
No valedictorians are chosen in the WASD\; students will be honored with Highest Honors\, High Honors\, or Ho nors\, as indicated above. Two (2) students from the top ten percent (10%) of the graduating class will be asked to deliver addresses during the gra duation exercise. The graduating class will select the two representatives by vote with administrative approval. All speeches will be reviewed and a pproved by the principal.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION \;
Seniors provide scholarship information to our counselors and principal. The scholarships and information are shared as the graduates walk across s tage to receive the diploma.
A GRADUAT ION MESSAGE \; \;
Please know\, we are doing everything we can to honor our graduate s. Graduation is the single event that marks the culmination of thirteen y ears of academic achievement. The ceremony itself is a respectable and dig nified event. In addition\, the IFAA ceremony is intimate and personal\; i t gives parents and guardians the opportunity to share in the achievement of their child and allows students to celebrate their accomplishments with family and friends. The presentation of the diplomas is the "heart" of th e commencement exercises. During this presentation\, the reality of transi tioning from one part of life to the next is made apparent to the graduate s and the witnesses at the ceremony. A diploma represents the challenging work and effort put forth by the students\, parents\, and teachers. We are excited to experience this much-respected tradition together. \;
